Police foil Pupnapper
The police had a special ransom case earlier this summer as they were called on duty to save a three month old designer ‘Puggle’ pup who was being held for ransom.
Two officers and six undercover CID detectives in unmarked cars arrived to take action. Hours later, the dognapper rang again and the police got into their positions.
Mr Legah said, “The police told us to arrange with the dognapper to bring Louis to our house, then one of the officers posed as me. As soon as the dognapper arrived in his van, and opened the door, the officer burst through it and scooped up Louis. At the same time the unmarked police cars pulled in around his vehicle so he couldn’t drive off. It was amazing - like something out of a film. But the officers were all fantastic. Louis ran yelping into my arms as fast as his tiny little legs would carry him. We were all crying with relief and Louis was licking the tears off our faces.”
Louis was seen by his vet who gave him the all-clear although he was dehydrated and thinner.
Mr Legah added that the experience has had an impact on poor pup Louis, “‘For a few days Louis didn’t want to go outside without us. He jumped whenever he heard a loud noise and would cower in the corner. The thought some stranger is holding your pet prisoner is the ultimate nightmare. Now I don’t let Louis out of my sight.”
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said last night, “On August 22, police received a complaint of blackmail. A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of this and has been given a police warning.”
Remember, if you have a cat or dog, get them micro-chipped and wearing a collar tag with your contact details incase they are missing or are stolen and found.
Micro-chipping works whereby a small chip is injected into the scruff of your pet and can be scanned by the vet or animal shelter.
I’ll have a Big Mac please and some carrots for my horse
A man in Swansea has been caught on camera picking up a McDonald’s meal on his horse.
The clip on YouTube shows the man ordering his Big Mac and fries at the Drive-Thru window and collecting it at the next one while being filmed by some highly amused men.
The men filming the so called ’Lone Rider’ are heard cheekily questioning the man while falling about laughing. They asked the ‘Lone Rider’ if his horse “had a cupholder” which wasn’t dignified with a response.
The staff at the Morriston McDonald’s branch remained professional though they must have found the incident as amusing as the men filming the video.
While waiting at the food counter, the ‘Lone Rider’ is given some carrots for his well-behaved and patient horse and as he rides his horse to a safe area to, er , park; the bemused ‘cameramen’ kindly fetch him his meal.
Must be a Swansea thing as one has also been spotted helping his rider use a cash point machine.
Check out the video below which does contain some swearing.
It’s official, the UK is the worst place to live in Europe
So it’s confirmed, it’s official, it’s what we all already knew; the UK is the worst place to live in Europe.
Bad weather, fewer holidays, higher prices on petrol, food, alcohol and cigarettes. We’re even bled dry by our banks as our mortgage rates are so bad, they give us the worst value in the world. As a nation of dog lovers, we’re not even allowed to take our dogs into public places with us like they do in France, Germany, America… basically, everywhere else. We won’t mention the endless cases of animal cruelty that seems to crop up daily at the moment. Shall we even talk about taxes?
According to the Quality of Life Index, the amount of money the UK spends on health and education has plummeted . The UK’s net household income was previuosly the highest, but now we’re ranked fourth.
Spokeswoman Ann Robinson (no, not that one who does The Weakest Link) of uSwitch.com who organised the index said, “Last year Brits were miserable but rich. This year we’re miserable and poor. Whereas some countries work to live, in the UK consumers live to work.”
Rich? Wasn’t there supposed to be a recession on?
The best place to live? Just hop on the Eurostar; France topped the list followed by Spain and then Denmark.
At least we have things like um… er… any suggestions?
Derren Brown’s searching for a hero
So last year, Derren Brown, mastermind of magic, psychology and mind trickery, appeared to predict the National Lottery numbers leaving everyone in the country asking each other the question, “how did he do that?” and now, Brown is looking to push the boundaries even further.
On Wednesday night, Channel 4 will screen Brown’s latest show; Hero at 30,000 feet, where Brown will take a normal, ordinary person and give them several challenges to carry out. The result of which will be a split second decision to take control of a plane, a Boeing 737 no less, and one full of passengers at that, because of the belief that the plane is about to crash at a speed of 500mph.
Brown says of his latest show, “I hope it’s a show that people take something from. We easily let life pass us by, and ultimately this is about engaging with life and understanding that it is the choices we make right now that define us, not what we’ve done in the past. One unwitting volunteer gets to have a deep understanding of this, and for him to experience real and lasting change, I have to push him to the extreme.”
Derren Brown: Hero at 30,000 Feet is on Channel 4 at 10pm Wednesday September 8.

Looking for a new pad? What about Kylie’s?
So last week you had the chance to buy David Beckham’s sports car on eBay (which you can still bid on; the current price is £71,100,00) and now this week, you can buy Kylie Minogue’s London pad.
The luxurious maisonette is located on the top two floors of a mansion block and was placed on the market for £4.5 million earlier this summer. However, looks like Kylie is getting to know the frustrations of the UK property market at the moment, as she has been forced to slash the asking price by £500,000 to £3,950,000.
The Chelsea flat has amazing views and was refurbished at a price of around £2 million to Kylie’s exact specifications by famed interior designers and developers, Candy & Candy and even has a loft room dance studio!
As the sparse interior shows, Kylie has already moved out of the flat, as according to neighbours, the singer wants to live in a house.
Candyand Candy said that Kylie also wanted “a bigger place so sister Dannii and her baby son Ethan can stay.”
It was reported that Minogue would be relocating to outside the UK however friends say that the star wants to stay in this country.
Kylie is believed to have bought the flat in the nineties and shared it with her brother Brendam before he moved back to Australia in 2002.
