Is Amazon set to become one of the online clothing giants?

Category: Books, Fashion · 0

Yes you have read that right: Amazon.co.uk, it is the home of the Kindle and normally where you would buy books and DVDs but Amazon is set to rival online clothing giants like ASOS.com by supplying high-end labels such as 7 For All Mankind, Halston Heritage and BCBG Max Azria.

Shoppers will have the ability to peruse a large collection of clothing while also getting access to the newest and most fashionable collections while also being able to find previous collections at a heavily discounted price.

Amazon is following in the footsteps of eBay which launched its Fashion Outlet earlier this year offering eBayers the chance to save up to 70% on clothing.  As well as this, they launched a special collaboration with high end designers such as Derek Lam and Rag & Bone.

Amazon’s move into high end fashion comes as Julie Gilhart, the former fashion director at Barney’s New York, was appointed as a consultant.   Maria Renz, vice president of shoes and jewellery at Amazon said, “Her ability to identify fashion trends, support emerging designers and work with established brands will help us provide excitement and new talent for Amazon’s growing fashion businesses.”

So next time you’re checking out books or DVDs you can buy some new jeans while you’re at it.

Phil Collins’ daughter Lily looks just like Audrey

Phil Collins’ daughter Lily looks the spit of Audrey Hepburn in these new pictures for Tatler magazine.

Lily’s star is rising and it’s no wonder she’s been styled into a look reminiscent of Hepburn.  The hair, eyebrows and those eyes look just like vintage Audrey.

Since starring as Sandra Bullock’s daughter in The Blind Side, Lily, 22, has been making a name for herself in Hollywood.  She’s landed the highly coveted role of Snow White in a remake while she also has a Hollywood boyfriend to boot.  No less than Twilight’s werewolf, Taylor Lautner.  The Brothers Grimm: Snow White also stars Julia Roberts and Lily beat tough and renouned competition from Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson and Anne Hathaway to land the part.

It’s not the only Snow White film in the works though; Lautner’s co-star in Twilight, Kristin Stewart is starring in another version of the famous Disney tale.
